Sun Hydraulics is a world leader when it comes to counterbalance valves. With such a variety of options to choose from, designers can optimise both efficiency and safety. Pilot ratios range from as low as 1.5:1 up to 10:1. Maximum pressure capabilities up to 420 bar with flow capacities starting from 15 l / min. up to 480 l / min.

Counterbalance valves control motion by guaranteeing the directional valve always sees a positive load pressure, even with overrunning loads. This range of counterbalance valves (with pilot-to-open assist) will shut off with very low (approaching zero) leakage.

These counterbalance valves can be mounted in, at or near hydraulic cylinders and motors to protect against load runaway through hose failure and to improve system stability.
